Root Canal Treatment in Kemps Corner
Root canal treatment still makes people wince - but the reputation is decades out of date. Done properly, with a dental microscope and modern anaesthetic, it is no more uncomfortable than a filling, and it saves a tooth that would otherwise be lost. At EasyDent in South Mumbai, root canals are done by Dr. Nikhil Modi, a UK-trained endodontist who works entirely under magnification.

Why a microscope matters
Root canals are millimetres wide and often curved or hidden. Treating them by feel leaves canals missed and infection behind - the usual reason a root canal fails and has to be redone. Under a microscope, we can see and clean the whole system properly the first time.
What it feels like
Numb from the start, usually one or two visits, and you drive yourself home. Mild tenderness for a day or two is normal and settles with routine painkillers.

FAQs
Does a root canal hurt?
The procedure itself is done under anaesthetic and is comfortable. It is the infection beforehand that hurts - the treatment relieves it.
Root canal or extraction - which is better?
Keeping your own tooth is almost always better than removing it. We only recommend extraction when a tooth genuinely cannot be saved.
Do I need a crown afterwards?
Usually yes, especially on back teeth. A root-treated tooth becomes brittle and a crown protects it from fracturing.
How many visits?
Most cases are completed in one or two appointments.
